Wrist Hold

In an attack, wrist grabs can and do get used. Wrists grabs can be used to force one somewhere else for example an alley so the attack is occurred out of view or hold you steady so the attacker can punch and /or mug you.

When in a wrist hold remember to:
1. Act quickly i.e when the wrist grab is occurring
2. Remain calm
3. Act decisively and confidently

Held with one wrist (Same side wrist grab)

1. Opponent grabs wrist
2. Take the hand (one that is held by the attacker) and bring it up in front of your face (like you are holding a compact mirror)
3. Rotate the wrist clockwise, so thumb is pointing towards your face
4. Thrust hand down

Held with one wrist (Opposite side wrist grab)

 1. Opponent grabs wrist with opposite hand
 2. Form hand into a fist
 3. Rotate your arm the opposite way their thumb is pointing (gap between thumb and  pinky)
 4.  Pull hand with force, which should loosen the attackers grip

Held with two wrists

1. Opponent grabs both wrists
2. Take hand slightly outwards and clap your hands together
3. Take a step and strike the attacker with your hands (so they will lose balance and grip)
4. Step back and pull hands over one shoulder

(In all wrist grabs, remember the weak points of the attacker: The gap between the thumb and the pinky)
